In the IPL 2023 match-37 between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, Yashasvi Jaiswal's explosive knock of 77 off 43 balls, supported by a strong finish from Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal, helped Rajasthan Royals set a huge target of 202/5 at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium.

This was the first time that any team has scored over 200 runs in an IPL match at this venue. Chennai Super Kings found it challenging to maintain the necessary scoring rate in their pursuit. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 47 off 29 balls, while Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed for 15 off 13 balls. Adam Zampa took three wickets, including Gaikwad's, which made it difficult for CSK to chase down the target. Shivam Dube scored a valiant 52 off 33 balls, but it was not enough as CSK finished their innings at 170/6, losing the match by 32 runs.

Jaiswal's explosive innings set the tone for Rajasthan Royals' powerplay, scoring a 26-ball half-century. During the powerplay, Jaiswal led the way for the Rajasthan Royals as they scored 64 runs in the first six overs, with the assistance of Jos Buttler. Although Buttler fell, Jaiswal's knock was followed by a good finish from Padikkal and Jurel, who added 48 runs off 20 balls for the fifth wicket, helping RR reach the 200-run mark. With this win, Rajasthan Royals have moved to the top of the IPL 2023 points table.

This marks the second time this season that the Royals have beaten CSK, a notable accomplishment in the highly competitive league. CSK's batting effort was lackluster, with Shivam Dube being the only bright spot. However, his innings came to an end on the last ball of the match as he was caught by Jos Buttler at long-on. CSK finished on a score of 170/6 after 20 overs.

The result left the people of Jaipur with mixed emotions as they celebrated their team's triumph but also mourned the absence of MS Dhoni, who was unable to bat in the match. The Sawai Man Singh Stadium holds a special place in Dhoni's heart, as it was here where he scored his iconic knock of 183 off 145 against Sri Lanka in 2005, and his absence was felt by many fans who fondly remember his contributions to the game.
