PAK vs NZ 2nd ODI Match Highlights : Pakistan Shows their best

On April 27th, 2023, the second ODI match of the 5-match one-day international series between New Zealand and Pakistan took place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi. Pakistan won the match by 7 wickets, chasing down a record target of 337, thanks to Fakhar Zaman's incredible knock of 180 not out, supported by fifties from Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. 

This match saw some incredible performances and also broke several records. Pakistan's successful run-chase of 337 was their second highest in ODI cricket and their highest against New Zealand. Their total score of 336 was their second highest against New Zealand and their highest on Pakistani soil.

 Daryl Mitchell and Tom Latham's partnership of 183 runs set a record for the third-wicket partnership for New Zealand against Pakistan in ODI cricket. Fakhar Zaman's unbeaten knock of 180 was his third highest score for Pakistan in ODI cricket and the highest score by a Pakistani batsman against New Zealand in ODI cricket history, this means that Fakhar Zaman's unbeaten score of 180 in the match was higher than the previous highest unbeaten score of 137, which was held by Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Zaman's unbeaten 180 was also the highest score by a Pakistani batsman in Pakistan in ODI cricket history, surpassing the previous record of unbeaten 139 held by Ijaz Ahmed. He also became the fourth Pakistani batsman to score three consecutive centuries in ODI cricket and the 12th player overall to achieve this feat.

 New Zealand scored 336-5 in their 50 overs, with Daryl Mitchell smashing 129 off 119 balls and Tom Latham scoring 98 off 85 balls. Pakistan's best bowler was Haris Rauf, who claimed 4 wickets for 78 runs in his 10 overs.

 Pakistan chased down the target of 337-3 in 48.2 overs, with Fakhar Zaman leading the charge with his unbeaten 180 off 144 balls, which included 17 fours and 6 sixes. He was named the player of the match for his record-breaking performance.
